JD Sports appoints new non-exec director

JD Sports has appointed Heather Jackson as an independent non-executive director.

With experience in IT and change management, Jackson is currently a non-executive director of Ikano Bank, the Swedish bank operating across Europe offering retail banking products and store credit.

Jackson also chairs the remuneration and IT committees for Ikano and jointly runs the Actinista change management company.

Prior to this, she was a non-executive director for the Child Maintenance Enforcement Commission and her previous roles also include chief information officer of HBOS and other director level roles with Capital One, Boots the Chemist, and George at Asda.

Peter Cowgill, JD Sports executive chairman, said: “We are delighted that Heather is joining the JD board. Heather’s skills in the field of IT and change management will enhance the strength of our board in an area which is very important to the delivery of our growth plans.”
