Jan Singer nominated to join Kate Spade board
Fashion brand Kate Spade has announced that Jan Singer has been nominated for election to its board of directors.
Singer is currently chief executive of shapewear brand Spanx and prior to that held various senior executive roles at Nike including corporate vice president of global apparel and corporate vice president of global footwear. Prior to Nike, she worked with Reebok International’s women’s business and also held key marketing and global communications roles at Chanel, Calvin Klein and Prada.
Nancy Karch, chairman of Kate Spade & Company, said: “Jan brings significant experience across several global aspirational apparel and beauty brands. We are confident she will offer valuable industry perspective as the company continues to grow.”
Singer will stand for election at the company’s 2015 annual meeting of stockholders. Kate Spade has also announced that Bernard Aronson and Kay Koplovitz will not be standing for re-election at the meeting.
Craig Leavitt, chief executive of Kate Spade & Company, said: “Jan’s branding and marketing experience in a range of categories makes her an outstanding fit for our board as we focus on our four category pillars, women’s, men’s, children’s and home.
“We look forward to her contributions and insight as we continue to expand into a powerful, global, multichannel lifestyle brand.”
