IWC Schaffhausen takes flight at Heathrow
IWC Schaffhausen has opened a pop-up shop to showcase its watches at Heathrow Airport.
The shop is the brand’s first pop-up of its kind in the UK and aims to celebrate IWC’s support of the round-the-world mission “Silver Spitfire – The Longest Flight”.
The mission is being carried out by Steve Boultbee Brooks and Matt Jones, who are hoping to make aviation history with the first round-the-world flight in a Spitfire. In August 2019, the British pilots will cover more than 43,000 kilometres and 26 countries in the iconic aircraft.
Featuring a replica Spitfire with a wingspan of 11 metres, the pop-up store is situated in the exhibit area of Heathrow’s Terminal 2 Departures and will be open until 12 August. It will be operated by the Harrods department store.
The pop-up will stock watches from the brand’s Portugieser, Portofino, Aquatimer, Ingenieur and Da Vinci watch families. It will also stock the new Spitfire and Top Gun collection from IWC’s Pilot Watches family.
