Ironmongery Direct appoints purchasing manager
IronmongeryDirect has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of Raja Samikannu as senior purchasing manager.
With over 14 years experience in purchasing, Samikannu has joined the online retailer from Anders Electronics where he worked two and a half years as a purchasing manager. Prior to that, he held procurement roles at Hewlett Packard in Australia and Singapore.
In his new role, Samikannu will be responsible for managing the purchasing and sourcing of all ironmongery and associated products. He will also play a lead role in driving the six-strong buying team forward through continuous innovation and best practice.
Commenting on his appointment, Ironmongery Direct managing director Wayne Lysaght-Mason said: “The addition of Raja to our buying team will help enable us to maintain our position as market leaders. He brings a wealth of experience to our business and will contribute towards the development of the team and the continued enhancement of our products.”
