Intu to benefit from special Student Nights

Shopping centre operator Intu is hosting a range of special student nights as it looks to attract over 100,000 students to its centres across the UK.

Over a three week period, Intu will organise a number of events and promotions aimed at driving footfall and dwell time.

Roger Binks, customer experience director at Intu, said: “Student Night has become one of the key dates in any retailer’s calendar. For intu, that means ensuring we deliver compelling experiences for students across the country. Our national consumer brand, a footprint that stretches across the UK and our newly unveiled app mean we’re able to work with a strong and diverse range of household names and top brands. Together, we’re able to ensure students pick our centres for great events, fun activities and a wide range of discounts and deals to make their funds go further.”

Intu said social media has proved popular at previous events particularly with regard to online competitions and student selfies tagged with #intuStudents. It also expects the newly launched national Intu app to be a hit.

Fourteen Intu branded shopping centres are staging a Student Night event which includes activities such as in-store DJs, promotions and competitions in a party atmosphere.
