International retailer to chair ICSC Europe Retailer Group
The International Council of Shopping Centers has appointed Debenhams head of business development John Scott as chair of its ICSC European Retailer Group.
ICSC Europe managing director Mike Morrissey said: “Retailers join ICSC to network with members representing the industry’s most active owners and shopping centre managers. This has given ICSC Europe’s Retailer Group a welcome momentum and we are delighted that John has agreed to use his considerable knowledge and influence to lead this group.”
The ICSC said membership of the ICSC European Retailer Group has grown since it was re-established earlier this year as more international retailers join ICSC and take part in the ICSC Europe’s Retail Connections event, a property leasing fair held in London every March.
Scott added: “It will be highly advantageous to have a vocal Retailer Group within an organisation which has traditionally had a majority membership of developers and shopping centre managers. Our retail voice can help deliver the right retail space within new and existing shopping centres that are working to make themselves leisure and retail destinations. I am delighted to chair this Group and look forward to encouraging even more retailers to get actively involved in shaping this vibrant industry.”
