Internacionale brand name put up for sale
The intellectual property of Internacionale is being put up for sale after the 89-store fashion chain went into administration earlier this year.
Joint administrators from PwC have appointed intellectual property specialists Metis Partners to co-ordinate the marketing of the IP assets of the Glasgow-based company, which previously operated as many as 150 stores.
Nat Baldwin of Metis Partners said: “Anyone with an interest in fashion will be fascinated by how Internacionale opened up access to up-to-the-minute style to a much wider public.
“The company is still trending strongly on social media with more than 180,000 Facebook likes and more than 14,000 Twitter followers. We anticipate strong interest from fashion retail professionals and brand acquisition experts.”
Never Miss a Retail Update!Internacionale went into administration for a second time in a year in March after poor trading and increasing creditor pressure meant the owners were unable to support the business and opted to wind it down.
Assets in the Internacionale sale include a registered UK and EC trademarks, unregistered trademarks, the customer database, goodwill in the brand and reputation, and the e-commerce website content.
The joint administrators have set a deadline for offers of noon on Friday 8 August 2014.
