Hubbub appoints Etsy’s Nicole Vanderbilt as a non-exec director
Hubbub.co.uk, the home delivery service for independent shops, small producers and local markets, has appointed Etsy international vice president Nicole Vanderbilt as a non-executive director.
Vanderbilt will work with Hubbub founder Marisa Leaf and co-chief executive William Reeves as they plan Hubbub’s expansion of its retail model across the UK.
Leaf said: “We are delighted and honoured to welcome Nicole to the Hubbub family, who we first met as a Hubbub customer. Her current role at Etsy is completely in line with our own philosophy; both are disruptive digital marketplaces that bring together small producers with like-minded customers as an antidote to the big chains. Nicole’s experience of Etsy’s growth will be invaluable to us as we enter the next stage of the Hubbub journey.”
Since 2012, Vanderbilt has been responsible for the UK and international markets at Etsy and prior to that was chief executive of Mydeco. She has also held senior positions at Bebo, Google and American Express.
Hubbub.co.uk offers customers over 15,000 products from more than 110 independent shops, small producers and market stalls. It covers areas across much of London and will soon begin delivering within the M25 before focusing on UK expansion.
Hubbub is currently preparing its next stage of fundraising to support its growth plans. It was successful in raising £2 million in 2014 in a fundraising led by Octopus Investments.
