House of Fraser beats ASOS as most visible site for fashion retail-related searches

Department store group House of Fraser has overtaken ASOS to become the most visible site for fashion retail-related searches, according to new research.

The report by digital marketing agency Greenlight showed that there were 3.2 million searches made on Google UK for womenswear, menswear and fashion accessories in July.

ASOS maintained a dominant position in the Natural Search space with a strong 57% share of voice in July, a slight increase on the 55% achieved in April.

However, House of Fraser moved up two places to top the Integrated Search league table, relegating ASOS to third position.  This was due to a combination of being the most visible fashion advertiser online with a dominant 62% share of voice and also a 35% share of visibility in the Natural Search listings.

Debenhams maintained its position in second place due to a strong presence across the natural and paid listings.

Marks and Spencer ranked fourth as it more than doubled its share of voice to  42% in July from 16% in April as it continued to invest in Paid Media.

Greenlight’s  report  profiles UK consumer online search behaviour and the most popular search terms used to look for products.
