Hornsea Freeport unveils successful trading figures for 2013

Outlet shopping village Hornsea Freeport has reported buoyant trading in 2013 with like-for-like sales rising by 8.1%.

In the fourth quarter, which included the run-up to Christmas, like-for-like sales increased by 4% year-on-year with footfall surging by 8.5% during the centre’s busy Christmas launch weekend.

Stores that reported particularly strong trading in the year included Yorkshire Mobility and The Gift Company, as well as Thorntons, Leading Labels and fashion store, Klass.

Centre manager Simon Tudor said: “Many large retailers are struggling at the minute and our recent figures demonstrate that the centre is managing to hold its own during what is an extremely tough economic climate. With increased sales figures year on year, Hornsea Freeport is going from strength to strength and we’re confident that we can continue to drive our success forwards during 2014.”
