Hornby reports strong third quarter sales

Toy and model specialist Hornby has reported that its group sales grew by 5% year-on-year in its third quarter, with sales in the UK rising by 7%.

The company said its UK growth was driven by increasing sales of Hornby model railway and Scalextric products. It has also benefited from improvements to its supply chain.

Hornby also revealed that it is planning to move its office functions from Margate to Sandwich in the second quarter of the calendar year.

The company said it is confident that sales and profits for the full year will be in line with expectations.
