Horiyoshi the Third to open first UK store
Luxury fashion brand Horiyoshi the Third has announced that it will be opening its first store in the UK.
The exact location has yet to be revealed but a statement from the company said it would be in Central London in an area “with a number of internationally recognized design firms represented”.
The store will carry the entire Horiyoshi the Third collection which is based on the artistry of Japanese tattoo artist, Yoshihito Nakano.
The brand’s clothing can currently only be purchased in the UK in the Harvey Nichols department stores in London, Birmingham and Leeds, and via its website.
Mitsuo Kojima, President of Horiyoshi Worldwide commented: “This is another important step in our plan to build the Horiyoshi name into a recognizable international brand. The new store will give us an important platform in a city that has served as a second home for us. London is a vital fashion centre and our gateway to all of Europe. To have a permanent presence here is an important part of our stated goal which is to solidify our base in Europe, build our presence in the United States and introduce the brand to the many markets we have targeted in Asia. This is a significant part of our strategic plan.”
Horiyoshi the Third collection features regularly in fashion publications such as the New York Times, Vogue, and Harper’s Bazaar and boasts a number of celebrity fans including Tilda Swinton Charleze Theron.
