Homebase to open up to 30 instore cafes
DIY retailer Homebase is to introduce coffee shops in up to 30 of its stores across the UK after signing a five year multi-million pound deal with food service specialist Compass Instore.
With the first coffee shop having opened in Worcester this month, the new offering is part of a plan to provide Homebase customers with a family friendly, home-from-home environment where they can relax and mull over their home improvement plans.
The coffee shops will be modern, colourful spaces featuring paint-dipped furniture and oversized soft chairs. They will be situated beside a consultation area where customers will be offered advice on home decoration.
Open all day, the shops will sell everything from hot breakfast products to sandwiches, cakes and pastries. In stores where space is tight, they will take the form of smaller pod cafés.
Never Miss a Retail Update!Andy Rees, business director for Compass Instore said: “We are immensely excited about building on our relationship with Homebase to inspire the nation’s homemakers everywhere.
“With our experience in delivering great food for retail partners, there’s a lot we can bring to create a great customer experience for Homebase customers, working together to satisfy appetites for home improvements and tasty eats at the same time.”
