Holland & Barrett increases staff pay to a minimum of £12 an hour

Health and wellness retailer Holland & Barrett is to increase hourly pay for store staff by 9%.

This means that store colleagues will see their rate rise from £11 to £12 from 1 April, which is almost 5% more than the new National Living Wage.

Meanwhile, pay for staff in London will increase from £11.95 to £13.

Anthony Houghton, chief executive of Holland & Barrett UK & Ireland, said: “We’re known for our amazing, knowledgeable colleagues, who help our customers with their wellness needs.

“We are delighted to once again be offering a substantial pay increase, alongside our strong benefits plan.

“We have exciting plans for the business in the year ahead, and look forward to continuing to provide health and wellness services to customers nationwide for another 150 years.”

Holland & Barrett has over 1,000 stores across 19 countries worldwide and has 5,000 staff members in the UK.
