HoF director joins Ottakar’s board

David Adams appointed non-exec
Ottakar’s has appointed David Adams, group finance director and deputy chief executive of department store group House of Fraser, as a non-executive director.

He will become chairman of the book retailer’s Audit Committee.
Adams was previously group finance director of Asprey, and before that finance director of Texas Homecare. He also spent six years in divisional finance roles within The Burton Group.
Ottakar’s said progress continues with the recruitment of a new finance director, following the departure of Edward Knighton. Adams is assisting the Board in the process.
Philip Dunne, chairman of Ottakar’s, said: “I am delighted David Adams is joining the Board of Ottakar’s. He brings considerable senior experience of the retail sector. I am sure he will make a substantial contribution to driving the company forward for the next stage in our growth.”
Adams said: “Ottakar’s is an exciting business with plenty of scope to expand its innovative presence on many more of Britain’s High Streets. I have admired the shops as a customer and look forward to working with the board to manage the continuing development of the company.”
