Hobbs opens 50th outlet

50’s fashion to the fore at Fenwicks
March 4 2004
Premium UK high street fashion retailer Hobbs is in expansion mode plans as its 50th UK outlet opens this week, a concession in Fenwicks department store in Newcastle.

With its current spring and summer collection inspired by the 50s, Hobbs outlets feature luxurious fabrics and graphic floral prints in feminine romantic colours like frothy pink, turquoise and apple green.
According to Hobbs’ managing director, Nick Samuel, the company is ahead of its planned expansion for 2004. Since Hobbs’ management buyout in late 2002, the company has increased its total number of outlets by 51 per cent. The growth in outlets is a mixture of stand-alone stores and concessions.
The partnership between Hobbs and department stores around the country has grown from strength to strength in the last year. This follows a series of new openings in the recent months, including Meadowhall in Sheffield, Selfridges in Manchester and House of Fraser in Reading.
Hobbs will continue its expansion plan throughout 2004 with more store openings, including Regent Street and Brent Cross.
