Swedish fashion retailer H&M has announced that it is to open its first store in South America.
The store in Santiago in Chile will be a full concept flagship and will be located at the Costanera Center shopping mall. H&M said it plans to open the store in the first half of 2013.
Karl-Johan Persson, CEO at H&M, said: “It is our first step into the Southern hemisphere, and we see great potential for further expansion in this fashion conscious region. We look forward to bringing fashion and quality at the best price to the Chilean customers.”
The move is part of the fashion retailer’s international expansion plans, which includes opening stores for the first time in Bulgaria, Latvia, Malaysia, Mexico and Thailand.
