Swedish fashion retailer Hennes & Mauritz is aiming to emulate its success in the USA by expanding into Canada.
Five stores in the Toronto area will extend H&M’s North American operation, with the first two outlets set to open in March.
Company spokeswoman Lucy van der Wal said: “We’re thrilled to be introducing the H&M brand to Canada. We know that Canadians want good affordable fashion.”
The move will further boost H&M’s 950-plus store chain, with the retailer already in 18 countries in Europe and the US.
