H&M to embark on designer collaboration with Alexander Wang
H&M has confirmed that its next designer collaboration will be with New York based fashion designer Alexander Wang.
With H&M making the announcement at the Coachella Music Festival in California at the weekend, the partnership marks the first time that the Swedish fashion brand has collaborated with an American designer on one of its designer collections.
H&M said the new collection will feature apparel and accessories for both women and men and that Wang will “propose a new take on the lifestyle product offering that goes beyond fashion”. The full collection will be available online and in 250 H&M stores worldwide from 6 November.
Wang, who is also the creative director for Balenciaga, said: “I am honoured to be a part of H&M’s designer collaborations. The work with their team is an exciting, fun process. They are very open to push boundaries and to set a platform for creativity. This will be a great way for a wider audience to experience elements of the Alexander Wang brand and lifestyle.”
Never Miss a Retail Update!Margareta van den Bosch, H&M’s creative advisor, added: “Alexander Wang is one of the most important voices in fashion today. He understands exactly what people want to wear and does it with an energy and passion that’s infectious. It feels incredible to be collaborating with him this year.”
