H&M to dress Swedish Olympic and Paralympic teams
High street fashion retailer H&M is to dress the Swedish teams for 2014 and 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The Swedish company has been awarded a four year contract to create uniforms for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Sochi 2014, and the Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
The contract will also include the design of clothing for the Swedish teams to wear in the Olympic village while training or at leisure.
Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s head of design said: “It is such an honour for H&M to dress both the Swedish Olympians and Paralympians for the upcoming Games in Sochi and Rio. The designs will bring together sport and fashion in a totally new way and have Swedish heritage as a proud influence on the collection.”

The clothing will be developed in collaboration with Swedish Olympians who will give their input and test the garments in the collection. They will also be collaborating with H&M on its new expanded sports collection which will make its debut in January 2014.
