H&M opens first store in Philippines
High street fashion retailer H&M has opened its first store in the Philippines.
After a VIP shopping party two nights prior, the grand opening of the store at the SM Megamall began with a ribbon cutting ceremony by H&M chief executive Karl-Johan Persson and other H&M team members.
More than 2,000 eager customers queued up for the opening and the first three shoppers in the queue were rewarded with 6,000, 3,000, and 2,000 pesos worth of shopping respectively.
Persson said: “The anticipation over our launch in the Philippines has been intense, and I am proud to welcome Filipino shoppers into our very first store. We hope that we can offer our customers added value through fashion, quality and sustainability at the best price.”
The new store spans over 3,000 square metres and with three floors of shopping space. It will carry the retailer’s full assortment of fashion items for women, men, teenagers and children, including athletic wear and lingerie.
