H&M like-for-like sales down 1% in July

High street fashion retailer H&M saw its global like-for-like sales edge down 1% year-on-year in July.

H&M Group total sales including VAT in local currencies increased by 9% compared to the same month a year earlier.

The retailer’s total number of stores amounted to 2,940 at the end of July compared 2,603 in July 2012.

Earlier this month, H&M launched its first online shop in the US. To celebrate the launch, the retailer is opening a pop-up shop on 22 August in the heart of New York City’s Meatpacking District which will feature its Paris Show Collection, a Try-On-Lab, and a virtual check-out system where customers can make purchases via iPads.
