H&M embarks on Balmain collaboration
High street fashion retailer H&M has embarked on a guest collaboration with the Parisian fashion house Balmain.
Founded in 1945, Balmain is now under the creative directorship of Olivier Rousteing. The French fashion designer walked the red carpet at The Billboard Music Awards with friends Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn at the weekend and all wore clothing from the collection.
H&M and Balmain also invited their fans to join a “movement of togetherness” through social media by using the hashtag #HMBalmaination.
Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor at H&M, said: “We are excited to have Balmain as our guest designer at H&M and create a truly involving experience for everybody. With its mix of couture spirit and streetwear attitude, Balmain owns a unique style, at once opulent and direct, sensual and energetic. It is also closely linked to the show business and music worlds, which adds another element of surprise.”
The collection will be available in around 250 H&M stores worldwide and online from 5 November and will include clothing and accessories for women and men.
