Hawes & Curtis to open 26 stores in Middle East
Shirtmaker Hawes & Curtis is to open 26 stores across the Middle East in the next five years after signing a $5 million franchising deal with Korath Holdings.
According to The Telegraph, the partnership will enable Hawes & Curtis to open new stores in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates with the first store launching in the World Trade Centre Mall in Abu Dhabi at the end of this year.
Hawes & Curtis owner Touker Suleyman told the newspaper: “I have been looking to expand the Hawes & Curtis brand for some time and this deal has provided the perfect opportunity for us to raise our profile.” He added that the tie-up was a “game-changer” for the business.”
Riyaz Korath, chief executive of Korath Holding, said: “We are really excited about this opportunity and are looking forward to working with such an established British brand. It’s great to be bringing British heritage to the Middle East.”
Hawes & Curtis currently has 28 shops in the UK. Suleyman also told the Telegraph that he plans to launch a flagship store in the US and to open franchise stores in Indonesia and elsewhere in the Far East.
