Haussmann finds location for first store

The group of Dutch entrepreneurs and financial investors behind the new Haussmann boutique department brand have found a location in Amsterdam for the first store.

The store will be situated in the heart of the city’s Rokin district, next to Marks & Spencer’s future flagship store.

In addition to luxury fashion and leisure departments, the store will also include a fresh food market and a fine dining restaurant on the top floor offering panoramic views of Amsterdam.

The new shop will open in the second half of 2016.

Frans van der Kraan, founding partner and chief executive of Haussmann, said: “Haussmann’s mission is to redefine luxury retail by setting a new standard on good living and taste, which goes far beyond what today’s conventional department stores are offering. Haussmann strives to truly touch and inspire its customers through a combination of high quality products (food and non-food), innovative service concepts and the use of state-of-the-art technology.”

Hausmann said the store will also include space for artistic and cultural events including showcasing opportunities for up and coming Dutch designers and artisans.
