Harrods gets creative
Department store appoints creative director
Upmarket London department store Harrods has appointed Susanne Tide-Frater to the newly created role of creative director.
Tide-Frater will develop new concepts and innovations for the Knightsbridge store, which has been further raising its game in terms of retail theatre. This month it is running a Fantasy Gardens promotion throughout the store.
She will take up the role in September, working with Harrods buying and marketing divisions and reporting to chief executive Richard Simonin.
Tide-Frater joins Harrods from Selfridges, where she has held the roles of head of creative direction and head of fashion direction. She has specialised in identifying new products and brands, as well as developing new concepts in fashion, home, beauty and food.
Tide-Frater said: “I am delighted to join Harrods. This is a new and exciting challenge for me. Harrods is undoubtedly the most famous store in the world, and I look forward to working with the Harrods team to continue its further development.”
