Harrods commissions cakes for wedding
27 April, 2011 | by Retail Bulletin
Harrods is commemorating the Royal Wedding in its own special way with a display of Royal Wedding cakes styled by 17 leading designers from the world of fashion, interiors and food.
From 26 to 30 April 2011, each of the store’s Brompton Road windows is displaying one of the metre high designs. Participating designers include perfume maker Jo Malone, fashion designer Paul Smith and jewellery designer Theo Fennell.
Housed within an ornate blue and silver frame incorporating HRH Prince William’s coat of arms, the wedding cakes rotate throughout the day to ensure that the individual cakes are displayed in their entirety.
The store said the highlight of the exhibition is the 18th cake depicting the Harrods Knightsbridge store.
