Hand & Lock appoints new creative director

Hand & Lock, the heritage embroidery design brand, has appointed Gregor Clemens as its new creative director. Clemens joins the company from fashion brand, Lac Et Mel, where he was head of design.

Commenting on his appointment, Clemens said: “I am sincerely honoured to be trusted with such a legacy. To me, heritage, craftsmanship and innovation are profoundly linked and form the base of outstanding designs.

“Hand & Lock are the epiphany of British style and I am happy to be given the opportunity to help form the future of such an iconic brand.”

Founded in 1767, Hand & Lock has a legacy of working for the British royal family creating wedding dresses, uniforms and flags. The fashion house also has a number of celebrity customers, including Rihanna, and was responsible for creating Michael Jackson’s iconic military jacket as well as the sequinned dress worn by Marilyn Monroe in the film ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes’.
