Hammerson launches Kudos app to drive loyalty

Hammerson has launched a new customer loyalty app for its shopping centres as it looks to bolster its digital offer for both shoppers and retailers.

The Kudos app has been introduced at the Highcross shopping centre in Leicester and at The Oracle in Reading before being rolled out across Hammerson’s ten major UK centres.

Utilising intelligent geowave technology to understand customer shopping behaviour, the app enables shoppers to receive real time updates and offers as they enter the shopping centre which can then be redeemed with retailers.

In addition, shoppers who download the app will receive two tiers of offers; retailer offers that are available in-store that day, which are then boosted by bespoke promotions to Kudos members based on their selected preferences and regular shopping habits.

Never Miss a Retail Update!

The first wave of retailers taking part include Debenhams, New Look, Levis, Aldo, TM Lewin, Crabtree & Evelyn, Carluccio’s and Patisserie Valerie.

In what Hammerson says is an industry first, the app also connects with Hammerson’s parking technology to provide Kudos members with real time parking offers which can then be scanned at the payment machines to give shoppers parking discounts.

Stephen Brown, group marketing director at Hammerson, said: “Our business is about creating exceptional retail experiences and Kudos will support this further by combining the digital and physical experience for our shoppers.

“The app has been specifically designed to give us a deeper understanding of our customers and how they shop in our centres, which will help us to harness early trends. Our retailers understand their customers’ habits and Kudos will enhance our knowledge of our shoppers’ behaviour. By combining our insight we can deliver a more compelling in-centre and digital experience to enhance retail sales and shopper loyalty.”
