GroceryAid introduces new apprenticeship grant opportunity
GroceryAid is helping people starting out in the grocery industry by offering grants to apprentices who are looking for extra financial support.
Working closely with the Food and Drink Federation and The National Skills Academy, GroceryAid has opened up applications for a scheme which aims to support a number of apprentices by offering up to £520 per annum. This can be used to help with costs such as living expenses, accommodation, travel expenses, study material and equipment.
The offer is valid for up to four years and is dependent on proof of continuation of the apprenticeship programme.
GroceryAid said the new apprenticeship grant will not only help those starting out in their careers but also encourage a through flow of talent into the grocery industry.
Director general of GroceryAid, Gillian Barker, said: “Our focus here is on the younger generation and ensuring their apprenticeship is supported as much as possible. Apprenticeships provide a fantastic means of education and also on the job experience. I am delighted that our apprenticeship grant will help those people who are the future of the grocery industry.”
To be eligible for an apprenticeship grant, applicants must be a UK resident, be undertaking an apprenticeship in the grocery industry and be the child, or dependent, of someone who has worked, or is currently working, in the grocery industry.
