Greggs trading remains steady

Like-for-like sales over the second half as a whole increased by 0.9 per cent.

Group Managing Director Sir Michael Darrington reports: ‘I am pleased to confirm that the more positive sales trend noted in our last trading update on 18 December continued to the end of the year, in line with our expectations.
Like-for-like sales in the last three weeks of our financial year to 30 December 2006 rose by 3.3 per cent. In consequence, like-for-like sales over the second half as a whole increased by 0.9 per cent. ‘Like-for-like sales in the first week of 2007 showed a similar increase to those over the Christmas period.
