Greggs to open shops in motorway service stations
Greggs has agreed a trial with Moto Hospitality that will see the bakery goods retailer open shops in motorway service stations.
The trial will run for 12 months and will be operated under a franchise agreement. It will initially include two stores, the first being in Lymm, Cheshire. If successful, Greggs will consider rolling out the stores to Moto’s network of 30 service stations across the UK.
Commenting on the trial, Ken McMeikan, chief executive of Greggs said: “We are delighted to team up with Moto in the motorway services market. They are an excellent operator and I hope this will be the beginning of a long and successful relationship. Making Greggs even more accessible to consumers as they travel will, I hope, be welcomed by both existing and new customers of Greggs.”
Moto’s current franchise partners include Costa Coffee and Burger King.
