Grazia owner acquires London-Boutiques.com as it plans to launch online store
Grazia magazine owner The Mondadori Group is planning to launch an online fashion store under the Grazia brand after acquiring the online boutique marketplace London-Boutiques.com.
The group said the acquisition of the London based company, which offers shoppers access to items from selected fashion boutiques within the capital, is the first step in its plans to launch a global e-commerce platform.
Ernesto Mauri, chief executive of the Mondadori Group, said: “A leader among international fashion-oriented magazines for its rapid development and innovative formula, Grazia is now taking a decisive step into digital: this acquisition is the first step towards a development plan that starts from London, the biggest European market for e-commerce fashion, and that will soon also include many of the most important trend-setting boutiques in the main cities of Italy and France.
“The aim is to expand also to the other countries where Grazia is published and beyond.”
The group said the “Grazia International Network” platform – graziashop.com – will be online “after the summer”.
