Grant Thornton appoints new head of retail

Grant Thornton UK LLP has appointed Barry Knight as Head of Retail.

Knight brings to the firm over 20 years of financial advisory experience
in the retail, wholesale, travel and tourism industries having worked
with household names such as Littlewoods, Burton Group (now Arcadia
Group), Sears, Selfridges, Jaeger, MyTravel and Boots.

Knight will lead the retail team in providing clients with solutions and
advice across all aspects of business. This includes audit, tax, corporate finance, employer solutions, and financial and operational restructuring.

Speaking on Knight’s new appointment, David Maxwell, member of the
National Leadership Board at Grant Thornton says: “We are delighted that Barry Knight has joined the firm to head our expanding retail team.
Having worked with some of the countries’ most well-known retailers, Barry has built a wealth of invaluable sector experience which he brings to this role.
