Garden Centre Group sale edging closer

Garden Centre Group is close to being bought by Terra Firma according to reports.

The private equity firm is expected to enter exclusive talks this week with Garden Centre Group’s sellers which include Lloyds Banking Group.

Garden Centre Group achieved an £860,000 pre-tax profit for the year to 26 December 2010. Last month the group reported a 17% increase in year-on-year Christmas sales and an 8% increase in sales across 2011.

The potential deal is said to value the business at around £300 million.
