GameStop launches UK online store
GameStop, the multichannel video retailer, has launched an online store in the UK.
The US based company, which is rumoured to be a potential bidder for Game, claimed that its would give customers the “best value” and would offer exclusive content such as the European release of the Assassin’s Creed Revelations Animus Edition.
This move represents GameStop’s continued multichannel expansion in key gaming markets worldwide. The new GameStop.co.uk online store offers a selection of gaming hardware, software, accessories, and pre-owned games, as well as the retailer’s full range of digital content and services.
Mike Mauler, executive vice president of GameStop International, said: “I don’t know about ever being the cheapest place to buy games online, but we’ll definitely give the best value.”
He continued: “And by value I mean that we’ll have good prices, great range, great selection of titles and products that you can’t get anywhere else, which is key for the gamer. We really want to bring a better range, better variety for the core gamer out there.”
The GameStop UK online store will run special offers on a “daily basis”, although many will be limited warned Mauler.
GameStop Corporation, based in Grapevine, Texas, is the world’s largest multichannel video game retailer. GameStop’s retail network and family of brands include 6,573 company-operated stores in 17 countries worldwide.
