Gamestation in the Big Apple
56 staff rewarded with trip
Gamestation has awarded a 56 strong team, from stores up and down the country, an all expenses paid trip to New York, to thank them for a great performance in 2004.
The gesture demonstrates the board’s recognition of the hard work that store teams have put in to the business to help it grow to 211 stores nationwide in 2004 and demonstrates its commitment to investing into the most important part of the Gamestation business – the people.
The stores were judged on sales and service by Mystery Shoppers, with two stores chosen from each region. The entire store teams from each store were rewarded with the trip of a lifetime, along with six area managers and two regional managers. Special awards were also given to the area managers who performed exceptionally well during the launch of two major computer games releases in 2004: Halo 2 and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.
Managing director Mike Logue said: “The most important part of the Gamestation proposition has always been our people. We opened 50 per cent more stores in 2004 ending the year on 211 and we now have a fantastic store and central support team of over 1,500 colleagues across the country. I believe that our in store customer experience is second to none and I am thrilled to be able to show our appreciation for outstanding sales and service in this way.”
The Gamestation bunch enjoyed a long weekend, staying in the stylish Le Parker Meridien, just minutes from 5th Avenue, Central Park and Broadway. A packed itinerary of events, included a visit to the New York Knicks vs Seattle basketball game, taking in the sights of the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building, champagne breakfast at Bloomingdales and dinner at Arthur’s Landing to take in the view of Manhatten at night.
