Games Workshop profit to be in line with expectations
Games Workshop has said that profit for the year to 31 May 2015 will be broadly in line with market expectations while retail and trade sales will see a small decline.
The retailer of fantasy game figurines said it had experienced modest sales growth at constant currency in its core trade and mail order channels. However, it saw a small decline in its own stores due to continued difficult trading in Continental Europe following a restructuring last year. Some non-core activities which are grouped with core activities also declined.
Games Workshop said the effect of the non-core activities and the continuing effects of unfavourable exchange rates meant that its reported retail and trade sales are likely to show respective declines of around 5% and 3%. Mail order growth was around 5%.
The retailer will release its full-year results on 28 July.
