GAME Digital names John Jackson as chairman designate
GAME Digital has announced that former Jamie Oliver Holdings chief executive, John Jackson, is to become its new non-executive chairman.
The news follows David Hamid’s decision to step down as chairman following the 2015/16 Annual General Meeting to be held in January 2017. Hamid has been chairman of GAME Digital since its IPO in 2014, and of GAME Retail since 2012.
A non-executive director of GAME Digital since June 2014, Jackson’s other previous roles include group retail and leisure director of Virgin Group. He is currently a non-executive director of Playtech and Wilkinson Hardware Stores and is also the non-executive chairman of the Rick Stein Group.
Martyn Gibbs, GAME Digital chief executive, said: “David has been an instrumental part of the team for almost five years I would like to thank him personally for his significant contribution to the group over that time. I am really pleased that John, with his huge wealth of experience in building brands and companies, will be taking up the role of chairman as we focus on executing our strategy and transforming our business.”
