GAME appoints Russ Shaw as non-exec director

PC and video games retailer GAME Group has appointed Russ Shaw as a non-executive director as the group focuses on delivering its new strategy.

Shaw was vice president and general manager of Skype Europe, Middle-East and Africa and Mobile from 2009 to 2011. Prior to this, he  spent four years at Telefonica SA, initially as marketing director of O2, and latterly as the global director of innovation, following the company’s acquisition by Telefonica. He has also spent a year as chief eExecutive of Mobileway Inc. and two years as managing director of NTL Home London for NTL Group Limited.

Shaw currently serves as a non-executive director on the Boards of mobile solutions businesses, Unwire and Dialog Semiconductor GmbH and is also chairman of the Marketing Board of Great Britain.

Commenting on the appointment, Chris Bell, Chairman of The GAME Group plc said: “Russ brings a wealth of experience to GAME. His impressive background in marketing, online and digital technologies and his strong customer relations focus will be a strong addition to the Board as we continue to deliver our strategy.”
