Frenchgate leisure expansion steps up with The Gym

The Frenchgate shopping centre in Doncaster will see The Gym Group launch a new outlet at the centre as part of expansion plans in the North.

Taking a 21,000 square foot unit, The Gym is due to open in November and will be the first gym within the Frenchgate scheme.

Speaking on behalf of Frenchgate, Paul Devlin said: “We are delighted with the addition of the Gym Group who will add huge depth to our offer and further enhance our appeal as an exciting retail and leisure destination. This letting sits perfectly with our strategy of diversifying the line-up, with a focus on providing more exciting options for our local shoppers, and in turn increasing dwell time at Frenchgate.”

Also adding to the centre’s leisure offer are Chinese food specialists Chopstix Noodle Bar and Graveleys Fish and Chips. Both sites will open in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The new additions follow the recent openings of Patisserie Valerie and Ed’s Easy Diner, which have both launched in the last six months. The new signings form part of extensive leasing and development plans underway at Frenchgate, constituting over 83,000 square feet and approximately £2.75 million of investment in store fit outs.
