French Connection reports 11% rise in like-for-like sales

French Connection has reported an 11% increase in like-for-like sales in the 11 weeks to 12 April 2014.
In a trading update issued today, the fashion retailer said its retail initiatives and better product range were continuing to gain traction and were part of an improving trend which began in the second half of last year.
Whilst prior year comparatives for the first half were soft at -4.5%, French Connection said like-for-like sales in the second half of the financial year to end January 2014 rose by 1.4%.
French Connection has been working to turn its business around and in the year to 31 January 2014 reduced its underlying operating loss to £4.4 million from £7.2 million in the previous year.
