French Connection extends deadline for strategic review and sale process
French Connection has said it will be extending the period for the strategic review and “formal sale process” it announced in October.
At the time, the fashion and homewares retailer revealed that it had commenced discussions with several interested parties. The review was expected to conclude during the first half of 2019.
In a statement today, French Connection said the discussions have moved forward and are still ongoing. As a result, it has decided to extend the completion date until its interim results. These are expected to be published on or around 17 September.
It added: “Notwithstanding the extension of the strategic review and formal sale process, the board continues to believe that French Connection can deliver long-term growth and remains focused on building on the momentum achieved last year and driving the business forward.”
The company also said there could be no certainty that an offer will be made for the business.
French Connection was established by Stephen Marks in 1972. The company previously owned the Toast fashion and homewares brand but this was sold last year to Bestseller
