Former Threshers boss joins Mothercare board

Mothercare has appointed David Williams, the former chief executive of off-licence group Threshers, as a non-executive director.

Williams, who will join the board of the mother-and-baby goods retailer at the start of August 2004, is a partner inprivate equity firm Duke Street Capital focusing on consumer investments.
He led Thresher Group though its transformation from a brewery owned business into a specialist retailer. He also chaired bar group Slug and Lettuce, and has worked in the fast food restaurant arms of Diageo and PepsiCo.
Mothercare chairman Ian Peacock, said: “We are delighted to welcome David Williams to the board of Mothercare. David has significant retailing and brand experience both internationally and in the UK, and he will be a great asset to the Mothercare team as we continue to grow the business.’
Williams said: “Mothercare is a great retail brand and an exciting business. I’m looking forward to working with the team.”
