Peter Williams retires from grocery trade
Peter Williams, the former chairman of the Londis group, has sold his store in St Albans and is retiring from the retail trade.

Williams was chairman of Londis until the group were taken over by Irish wholesaler Musgrave in 2004. He had been operating the store since 1969.
The Milton Keynes office of property agent Christie & Co has sold the lease on the store, whch sells convenience lines, CTN goods, off licence goods, lottery and video rental and numerous other lines. The purchaser is S Theyagarasha, a first-time operator.
Tom Robinson of Christie & Co’s Milton Keynes office, said: “This sale highlights the continued appetite for lock up leasehold units. The interest shown in this store was massive, despite the fact that it has huge opposition from the Morrisons opposite.”
