Floors 2 Go sees strong sales growth

Flooring retailer expanding into Scotland
Hard floor retailer Floors 2 Go has seen continued strong sales growth across the firsts half of the year and is taking its offer into the Scottish market.

The specialist in hardwood and laminate flooring products said sales for the six months to June 30 were up 224 per cent on the first half of 2003, with like-for-like sales up 28.2 per cent.
The company’s aggressive store opening programme has continued, with five new stores opened since the start of the year and another six planned for England this year.
In Sccotland, Floors 2 Go has announced plans for 16 stores in Scotland, mainly on retail parks, by taking 47,000 sq ft of concession space from soft furnishings retailer Texstyle World. The Scottish stores are scheduled to be open by the beginning of September, ready for the peak Christmas trading period.
Chief executive Simon Farnsworth said: “Demand for our products continues to be strong and. there are still many parts of Britain where we do not have a presence. We continue to take market share from our competitors and from the carpet sector.
“Our expansion into Scotland is a very cost effective and fast means of moving into this market and is a significant step forward for the Group. This is an exciting opportunity for the business with great potential.”
