First ever career and rewards survey launched for European shopping centre industry

The International Council of Shopping Centers is launching the first ever career and rewards survey for the European shopping centre industry.

Sarah Banfield, ICSC senior research analyst in Europe, explained: “After a very difficult few years when remunerations have bumped along the bottom, the industry needs insight into the level of activity and recovery in the retail real estate employment market, and assess the career motivations and intentions of those working within it.”

The ICSC said the survey will allow companies to look at their employment packages and learn more about the needs and expectations of those working in the shopping centre industry. It will also allow individuals to benchmark their remuneration against that of their industry peers.

The organisation is conducting the survey in partnership with retail real estate recruitment company Foundation Recruitment. Managing director Julian Long said: “As the industry recovers from probably its most difficult period over the last 50 years, this is a very appropriate time to assess and measure the fluidity and mobility of the retail real estate employment market.”

Never Miss a Retail Update!

The survey will be rolled out across Europe from January 2014 and the results will be announced at the ICSC European Conference in Istanbul next year.
