Fast Retailing appoints John Jay as president of global creative
Uniqlo owner Fast Retailing has appointed former Wieden+Kennedy creative director John Jay to the newly created role of president of global creative.
In his new position, Jay will responsible for the creative aspects of the company, including product design, store design, marketing media and branding strategies.
Fast Retailing president and chief executive Tadashi Yanai said the company had a long standing relationship with Jay which started when he worked on a campaign for Uniqlo Fleece products in 1999.
Yanai added: “This was the beginning of a totally new direction and way of thinking for Uniqlo, especially in terms of innovative and creative communication. I believe Mr Jay joins our company at the right time and, with his experience and background in retail, design and communications, he will be able to make a great contribution to how we will connect with customers in the future.”
