eWise appoints new business development manager

eWise, the payments and online financial management solutions provider, has appointed Kunal Choitram as business development manager.

Choitram was formerly business development manager within Visa Europe, focusing on card product sales and issuer portfolio conversions across European growth and emerging markets.  Prior to that, he worked with Elavon Merchant Services.

eWise said Choitram’s key objectives will be to support the sales and business development of eWise payo, and eWise payo mobile in the UK. He will work closely alongside managing director, John France, supporting the sales cycles for banks and retailers to accelerate the growth of eWise payo in the UK.

Commenting on the new appointment, John France, managing director of the eWise European Payments Division, said: “I am delighted to announce Kunal’s appointment. He brings a wealth of experience and contacts across the European payments industry, and his proven track record will undoubtedly add real value to the business.”

Kunal Choitram added: “eWise payo deals with the end-to-end payments chain. The technology is simple and relevant today, it is also hugely disruptive and – as such – I believe will become a significant player within the payments industry.

“I believe that cash and cards are here to stay, but their relevancy will diminish in the commerce space. eWise payo simplifies the payments model, whilst also making it more lucrative for the relevant parties involved in a transaction.”

eWise offices in UK, US, China and Australia support some of the world’s top 50 financial institutions.
