ebay to launch live shoppable light installation at Outernet London
eBay is launching an immersive display in London’s West End that promotes private selling and allows people to shop pre-loved items across the categories of luxury, fashion, home, tech and toys.
Running on 8 and 9 November at Outernet London, the Listings in Lights experience will bring together pre-loved inventory from sellers across the country in a live shoppable light installation.
Inspired by festive gifting suggestions, guests will be able to scan QR codes to shop products on eBay.
To be in with the chance to have their products included, sellers will be asked to include the hashtag #ListingsInLights in the title of their listing from 2 to 6 November.
The move follows last month’s removal of eBay selling fees for private sellers in the UK, making it free to sell across all categories except for motors.
Kirsty Keoghan, general manager of eBay UK, said: “eBay removed selling fees to give buyers access to a greater selection of inventory and to simplify the experience for sellers.
“Listings in Lights is illuminating the streamlined experience, making it easier than ever for sellers to spotlight their items, and for buyers to find inspiration for everyone on their list.”
Broadcaster Nick Grimshaw and his niece Liv will be two of the sellers joining the festivities by listing items they are looking to sell. Proceeds from their sales will support the Albert Kennedy Trust, the national LGBTQ+ youth homelessness charity.
